installation bug
A Logo programming environment for Microsoft Windows
Brought to you by:

Hi.
I have downloaded mswlogo and it worked ok, except
opening files.
After submitting a question to the logoforum, I was
told the mswlogo is now FMSlogo, so I should install it
instead.
Anyway, I'm trying to install it from version
fmslogo-6.6.exe but when I run it I get this message.
(My system is in hebrew, so I'm translating the hebrew
part) :
d:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe - fmslogo-6.6
A CPU component of NTVDM got an illegal instruction

close/ignore.
When I close ignore nothing happens.
Help anyone ?
Thanks, Ohad.

I have a few questions and ideas to try:
NTVDM is an emulation environment for 16-bit windows (Win
3.1 and earlier) running on 32-bit windows (Win95 and
later). That shouldn't be involved at all. What version of
Windows are you running? How much RAM do you have?
Based on the trouble you mentioned on the Logo forum, it
sounds like MSWLogo can't create its default file. The file
it tries to create is called %TEMP%\mswlogo.tmp. What is
your "TEMP" environment variable defined as? Make sure that
the directory exists. By the way, I consider this a bug and
will file is soon.
I recommend using FMSLogo instead of MSWLogo. If the
installer doesn't work for you, you can try using the ZIP
archive. The main drawback with the ZIP archive is that it
doesn't create any shortcuts.
Hope this helps.

I saw the NTVDM illegal instruction. It happened because my
download got cut-off. Check to make sure that your file
size matches what's on SourceForge and re-download if necessary.
