Merge in changes from trunk

Add character backslashing to the Unicode build.
The idea is similar to what is done for the ANSI build,
except that instead of backslashing characters using
ASCII control characters, they are backslashed using
characters from the Unicode Private Use Area.

Fix a bug on non-Windows platforms where the auto-completion suggestions
would be in lower-case when the characters typed so far were upper-case.
For example, completing "FOR" suggested "FORward", instead of "FORWARD".

Fix build errors when building for GNU/Linux on Fedora (a strict libc, probably)

Make changes needed to get the Unicode branch to compile for Windows.

Add a debug form of wcsdup to the debug heap.
Otherwise, any code which calls wcsdup would use the wrong free() and crash.

Revert the changes to strdup() that made it use wchar_t*.
strdup() is defined by C to use char* and building for Unicode doesn't change that.

Fix copy&paste error in the copyright notice (I wrote this file this year).

Change "char" types to "wchar_t" to support Unicode.
This is a first step to supporting Unicode.

Merge in changes from trunk which remove a type cast.
