Dear David
At ZRI (www.zri.si) (institute for computer education) decided to take part in FMS project and take care on localization for Slovenian users. At the begining we are glad to prepare what is needed for installation and user interface. Please, can you create a "localization pack" for us. For further communication you can use also our e-mail: info.zri@zri.si.
Best regards,
Jelko Urbančič
Sounds good, Jelko. To give me an idea of the urgency of this request, what date are you hoping to have this made available to the public? Is this needed for the next school year? If so, when does that start in Slovenia.
For the installer and the UI you only need to localize two files: fmslogo.nsi and parts of localizedstrings-si.h. I will attach both of them to this thread (SourceForge only lets me attach one file per post).
Further instructions are at http://fmslogo.sourceforge.net/howtolocalize.html
And here's the file to translate for the installer.
Dear David,
thank you for your mail and sent files. I am in the middle of quite long
summer break and I just (temporarly) came to a good internet connection
and I took both files. I will start to work and arround 20. of August I
will inform you about the progress.
I wish you a pleasant summer break

Enjoy your break, Jelko. I'm sure it's well-deserved.
When you have something to post back, please log into https://sourceforge.net and use the Web site to do so. SourceForge does horrendous things when people respond via email and it makes the conversation nearly unreadable.
Hello Jelko. Some Italian trainers are eager for the next release of FMSLogo to a fix for Bug #532. Because I have already added a Solvene translation, if I release it for them today, it will include a Slovene install that is 100% English, something that I'd rather not do. It will take me a few hours to remove Slovene from the build. Since you said you would start translating on Aug 20th and it's now Sept 2nd, I was wondering if I should wait until you're done or remove the Slovene place-holder that I had added and release FMSLogo without it.

Dear David,
I have both files translated and ready but I made a mistake and sent you for a preview answering the mail vbefore upploading them to the Sourceforge. Nevertheless here they are:
Encoding: ASCII - while seeing the Croatian characters OK, I assume Slovenian must be also OK. Please check if the lines with non ASCII127 characters are readable: 135, 149, 178, 206, 234
Encoding: UTF8 with BOM
Logo language is not to be subject of translation.
if I count correctly - 291 lines are localized. I assume they cover most of the user interface that users can normally access. Colors are not translated yet. May be some times we will do it.
The number of lines and sort order is not changed.
I leave some comment in every "#define" line in the file, to manage possible changes later. There are 3 possoble comments:
// NOT_YET_LOCALIZED - as your advice - for possible later localization upgrades
// NO_LOCALIZATION - where we assume the localization has no sense
// DONE - where localization has been done. If we found some errors it helps us to find and correct them
Please let me know if it is OK or if there is some error to fix and upload again.
Best redards,
Jelko Urbančič

Thank you for posting the attached directly to the SourceForge thread instead of replying by email. I have integrated your changes and compiled a private build so that you can see how they look. Unfortunately, the full installer to large to include as an attachment, so I have only attached the FMSLogo executable. I have marked this request as "Closed", but feel free to post updates whenever you like.
Please feel free to use LOCALIZED_ABOUTFMS_MULTIMEDIALOGIC to give yourself or your team credit for translation.
Please save localizedstrings-si.h in ANSI, not UTF8. I know it sounds weird, but if you use UTF-8, some of the text will be garbled. I have converted your translation to ANSI, but it's easier overall if you do this.
Right now, using
// NO_LOCALIZATIONmeans that, if update the English text, the text in the Slovene version will be stuck at the old text. I can understand your desire to be able to mark text as "not yet considered" versus "considered as should not be translated". I'll think about how to preserve the "NO_LOCALIZATION" comments and still be able to update the text if I change the English version.
