There have been no updates in over two years with the last one being a buggy beta for Visio 2007 support.  How Visio 2010 is out and we have had no progress on a stable FMC Stencil release that will work in the latest Visio's 2007 / 2010.

FMC is a great modeling notation, I would like to know if I should give up on waiting for any updates and look for another way to model that may not be as effective or efficient but at least is supported?

    Hi there,

looking at the activities here one can indeed get the expression that the stencils are "dead". However our company use FMC in many projects including telecommunication, energy, automotive and others. Because of the problems with Visio 2007 an the need for some additional features we decided to invest some manpower into the stencils project. It's to early to talk about details but you can expect some progress during the next months…

    Hi,

we just prepared a stripped-down version of the FMC stencils which can be installed on the latest Windows/Visio versions. It is a workaround without the incompatible code parts. Some advanced features (e.g. consistency check) are now missing but also the bugs ;-) The installer is already available at the FMC homepage (see "2.1.1 Light" version of the stencils) and will also be added here at sourceforge.

However this is just a workaround for the meantime. A new version of the stencils is still work in progress…
