When un-Maximizing (ie Maximizing a second time) a window that was previously horizontally maximized, it returns to the windows default dimensions. I would expect the window to return to it's horizontally maximized dimensions.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a window
  2. Horizontally maximize the window
  3. Maximize the window
  4. Maximize the window again to revert it back to it's previous dimensions

Actual result: window returned to normal dimensions

Expected result: window returned to being horizontally maximized

    See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195576 vs. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=296171

The reasons against the "undo" feature is that the future state isn't determined by the present state, thus it only acts "reasonably" if you recall and expect the former state (eg. on short time frames?) and that you need to know the r/mmb actions in order to withdraw partial maximization states which might have been set differently.
