You can now associate a link to the player canvas. This makes it possible to show ads in the player canvas. You could show an interactive Flash ad or an image in the background so that the video area takes only a part of the larger canvas. There will soon be demos to showcase this, but check out heavy.com to get an idea how this can be used.

Better scripting support for the play button laid over the video area, the license key in the commercial version now works on all levels of subdomains, plus several bugfixes. We also have new versions of the flashembed Flash embedding tool, the playlist plugin, and the embed plugin.

The flowteam is happy to announce the immediate availability of Flowplayer version 3.0.3. This is the #1 video player for all websites and blogs.

This release adds the possibility to disable the controlbar buttons from code in plugins or using JavaScript. This is an important feature especially when developing video advertising features.

This is a bug fix release but there are some new features as well. The controlbar was improved - the scrubber works better now and the autoHide behavior is more reliable. The player's Flash framerate was increased which makes the animations smoother and snappier. The API has new onMouseOver and onMouseOut events, setPlaylist and setClip methods for replacing the whole playlist, and a new onError event handler for clip and player specific errors. Flowplayer 3.0.1 is out. This is a bug-fix release with one major new feature: Audio (mp3) playback with our new audio plugin. Bug fixes: Fixed negative cuepoints on the common clip. Buffering animation is now the same size as the play button overlay. Commercial version now supports license keys that allows the use of subdomains. Error messages are now automatically hidden after a 4 second delay, they are also hidden when a new clips starts playing (when onBeforeBegin is fired). We are happy to announce that FlowPlayer version 2.1 is out. The most notable new feature in this version is the use of Flash's new support for hardware scaling of video in the full-screen mode. This provides CPU-friendly and smooth video playback in full-screen.

I'm happy to announce that FlowPlayer version 1.19 is now released. The major feature are now on the webmaster/developer side of the audience: There is a new Skinning Kit that makes skinning the player easier and more efficient than ever before. You don't need to rely on the skin images to be downloaded from external files any more - now the skin images can be built into the player.

Additionally some bugs were fixed.

I am happy to announce that a new major FlowPlayer release is out! Version 1.18 adds the long awaited native Flash full screen mode. A lot of effort has been put into making the user interface more pleasant: The player has new animated mouse over states in the control buttons and the transition from initial idle state to playback has been tweaked to be more pleasent. I'm happy and proud to inform that FlowPlayer version 1.15 has been released. It includes following:

Added several new event callbacks to the JavaScript API. See javascript.txt for details. Added a new "thermometer" skin, provided in FlowPlayerThermo.swf (does not include the playlist control and loop buttons yet). Faster seeking with lighttpd by using a binary search to find the keyframes. A fix to the Seek() method in the JavaScript API, now works correctly with lighttpd.

1.14.1 includes mainly bug fixes: The dragger (scrubber) now causes immediate seeking when it is moved. Bug Fixes: JavaScript API's setConfig() did not work correctly. Now allows seeking to unbuffered areas when streaming with lighttpd. Removed unnecessary error logging. Volume slider goes all the way to the right edge. Also fixed two regressions in LP version: Thumbnail scrollbar was not shown and duration labels did not have the grey background

We have two new skins OMG included included in the standard package! You can see the new White skin above in this page. The second new black skin is shown in the showcase page. There is also support for FLV streaming with lighttpd. Then there is an ability to include Flash movies (swf files) in playlists. This is designed for running pre-roll and post-roll Flash ads. Finally there is a new type property in playlist clips so that the URLs don't need to have an extension (swf, flv or jpg) any more.
