Probing

This tutorial will show you how to use to probing feature of FlowDesigner. The feature is very useful for debugging or for observing the data transfered between each blocks when the process is running.

  • Open Probing.n in the tutorials directory (share/flowdesigner/examples/tutorials).
  • Here we have simple network to play with.
  • Press RUN and the process window will appear.
  • Click on the "loop" tab, you can resize the window for a better view of the network.

  • Right-click on the link between the "Constant" and the "Save" node. A menu "Probe it!" will appear and select QtProbeConsole.

  • A small window will appear and will show the data being transfered over the link.

  • That's it, you have just probed a link. In future versions, you will have more probes to play with, like a Graphic for numeric data or other probe for a specific data type.
