DESCRIPTION

The Communications toolbox provides a set of FlowDesigner nodes for the implementation of digital communication systems. Currently, the main focus is on the physical layer of wireless communications systems. The following nodes are currently available or will be available soon:

• pseudo-random sources
  • Discrete memoryless and Markov sources
  • Random number generators
• channel encoders and decoders
  • cyclic binary block codes
  • turbo codes and serially-concatenated convolutional codes
  • LDPC codes
• modulators
  • Linear: PAM, PSK, QAM
  • Orthogonal Frequency-Division Modulations (OFDM)
• channel models:
  • Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel
  • Flat-fading multipath channel
  • Time-selective and frequency-selective multipath fading channels
• some other useful tools
  • Interleavers
  • Error rate estimation blocks
  • Average power estimators

The development of this toolbox is currently at an early stage, therefore only a subset of these nodes is available.
