Just to re-iterate, my primary concern is that the out of the box experience for people who *don’t* care about data paths, hidden folders, and just want FG to install and work. For them, my reading is that %AppData% is the best option, for reasons that AJ already mentioned. For people who do care, FGRun and fgfs have ample ways to customise the paths. If anyone with more experience of Windows (i.e, practically anyone) wants to change the *default* locations, i.e what all the ‘I just want to fly, what’s a file path?’ users experience, then I am happy to apply patches, but I will forward all relevant bug reports and complaints to the patch author :) > > On this subject, there is a bug, in that when a screen dump is generated, > Windows users are given the opportunity to select a directory - but the > image always ends up in AppData. ;( That’s a straight bug, patches to fix it welcome, otherwise please nag me closer to the release deadline.
