A bit hard to explain and I tried to make a picture of it but I can't get this bug on a screenshot.
This bug was introduced after 2.4.0 and is on the snapshots I have used.
The 3d clouds show something that appears as sort of rain. tiny stripes that disappear as soon as they arrive. Visible when skimming the clouds from below. Depending on the position of the sun.
The stripes are typically oriented at 0, 45, 90 135, 180 etc degrees.
It appears the amount of stripes have been reduced in the 20111205 snapshot, but they are still there.
Changing rendering values does not appear to have any effect on this.

I see this as well. I don't know that the cause is or how it can be fixed.
I suspect it might be some issue in the driver itself, or possible related to the two cameras we use.

Now running the 20111219 snapshot and the phenomena is still here. The same can be observed but much less visible on the ground. I am beginning to suspect it's the volume and rendering of the clouds. Suspect that the lines are on de edges on the vertices.
I have discovered FlightGear is capable of anti-aliasing, turning this on does not remove the bug.
Perhaps it is related to light, and shadow.

alpha bug on edge rendering perhaps? now on 2.6.0 RC1 and it's still there. Is it possible to make the clouds 1 bit alpha to prevent the alpha bug? It's my guess that the rendering edges will vanish then.

Here the same, looks like a rain of vectors in any direction. I tried different rendering options with no luck.

Is this still valid? I've never seen it, but the comments suggest it only happens at certain viewing or sun angles?
