This happens on my system when the transition shader is off.  When it's on there is no flicker, but the ground color is wrong and jumps from one value to another at different view angles--currently neither way looks good.  Using FG from git, OSG 3.0.1 and 3.1.1, ATI HD5830, Catalyst 12.2 on Win7 x64.

additional info for FG version: same artefacts on 2.6.0, same hardware as above (ATI), catalyst updated to 12.1
By playing with individual shader options dialog - flickering disappears only with generic OFF. Other options have no effect.
Flickering depends on angle of view and type of surface.

I have this issue too. ATI Raedon graphics card (will add model and driver version later), Windows 7 64bit, version 2.6 of Flight Gear.

Disabling random objects seems to suppress the problem.

Why is the parent report tagged "Needinfo"?

Can someone re-test with current Git (will become 2.10) and confirm if this is still valid or not? Since it relates to GPU drivers and shaders, please provide detail on GPU version, OpenGL version and settings, especially if random trees / objects / buildings and shaders are enabled.

I did fast retest without new compilation - currently on 2.9 (compilation from Git Dec 3, 2012). Sucessfull - no flickering detected.
Tested with shaders options on different levels (landmass max 3), buildings/objects/vegetaion, particles.

Tested on FG 2.9, ATI HD 5670, AMD driver 12.10/64bit (internal driver version 9.002, OpenGL version 4.2.11931), default driver settings, settings in FG: texture filtering 4x, 32bpp.
