#2821 command 'dialog-show' failed with exception

when in-sim, F10->View->View Options fails and no dialogs work any more... F10 still opens and closes the menu bar but you cannot do anything... not even exit the sim... i have to send the TERM signal to fgfs from outside...

here's the log snippet:
