Failure in the rendering of menus and dialogs, aggravated when ALS is activated. My graphic card is an AMD Radeon R9 270X. Installed driver is fglrx-updates (version 2:13.350.1-0ubuntu2). Other drivers, including those available from AMD website, do not fix the problem.

    To be clear, what change broke this? Upgrade from 3.2 -> 3.4? Or an flgrx driver update?

    As far as I know, this is a long term problem that has been present at least since version 3.0 with different drivers.
