What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.After starting aircraft at airport (eg. NZQN Queenstown) open Equipment, GPS.
2.Use drop down list to select Any.
3.In Search type the airport designation (eg.NZWF Wanaka) and click Search.
4.Click DTO.
5.On aircraft panel click NAV, ALT, IAS.
6.On aircraft panel click GPS, GPS CRS.
7. Keyboard F11 for autopilot settings and fill in ALTSET of eg. 8500, IAS BUG 200.
8.Takeoff and when height of about 1000 turn on autopilot on aircraft pedestal
What is the expected output?
The expected is for aircraft to head in general direction of airport.
What do you see instead?
The aircraft heads in about 180 degree opposite as if it is going to take the long route by navigating around the Earth.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
FlightGear Version: 2.0.0-2, converted from tgz packages for slackware by alien to Debian packages for Ubuntu 10.04 lucid.

Please provide any additional information below.
This same thing seems to happen at all airports I have tried. Not just the example here.

It looks like I might have been using the auto-pilot wrong. In step 6 I also need to click GPS APR. If I do that the auto-pilot goes to correct course.
This is not a bug just my mistake.
