Initial commit of sysutils. Note: test program for getpid does not have
the proper makefiles yet

Commit a whole bunch of small improvements

Added one new module (traverse_grid) and added documentation (also for enumerate_space)

First - incomplete, because not working yet - checkin of a regular expression
engine (based on code by Russ Cox)

Changes in m_exception module, tests and doc

m_exception allows negative LUN, needed for use with newunit

Correct a problem with empty strings

Adding module enumerate_space

Use the modulo() function instead of mod() to avoid zero indices (problem
reported by Eildert Groeneveld)

Use the column names explicitly in the SQL insert statement - this is much
more flexible (arbitrary number and order). Patch provided by Eildert Groeneveld
