Just got it mostly working. Did the following:

-    exported the iis metabase from the old server

-    imported just section pertaining to our flexwiki app on the new server

-    used ntbackup to backup the flexwiki site folder on the old server

-    restored the backup onto the new server

-    set permissions for the flexwiki site folder for IIS_WPG group on the new server

-    installed .net framework 3.0 and 3.0 sp1 on the new server

-    rebooted the new server

Only remaining problem

-    I have the site set to be restricted based on windows authentication, but on the new server, it renders content even as it challenges me for authentication.

To speak to your questions:

-    it’s just an intranet site, not exposed to internet

-    the prior server is being decomm’d

-    except that I am using windows authentication to restrict the site, it is just a very vanilla install of flexwiki, no plugins

Thanks in advance for any insights on the remaining authentication problems! I’ll keep investigating. John, I appreciate your steadfast support of this application.

I need to know a few more details of the transfer. Is this new server replacing the existing server such that the flexwiki site will be using the same site name and URLs on the new server? What major features of flexwiki are you using - are there any plugins, user accounts, etc?

Can any of you detail the steps for this or refer me to a page that explains it?

Thanks in advance!
