Firstly .. Solaris is not Linux. It is UNIX(tm).  So expect just about 
anything non-portable from the linux world to be a struggle. However 
flex is pretty darn good software.

So I'll go get the sources and have a look on a baseline Solaris 10 
system and then move upwards to a SPARC M7 based Sol 11.3 system and 
then get back to you on this.
