Apparently a few others have had the same problem.

fldigi, was of course, suspected to be the culprit. As a last resort, ChatGPT was used to narrow the possibilities, with the conclusion that it wasn't an fldigi problem, but a computer issue, conflicting with fldigi when in the transmit mode.

Windows 11, installs with USB hub "Power Management" settings enabled. Power management settings appeared to interfere all to often, with the fldigi transmit buffer.

The ChatGPT suggestion was to go into Device Manager>Properties>USB Serial Buss controllers>Properties (of each USB Root Hub)>Power Management and uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power".

Do the same for the properties of the Silicon Labs CP210X (USB UART for my radio), power management tab.

This resolved the problem with no further drop out on long messages.
