Ok, guys. I know you're there, so I'm calling for your help :) What bulletin board (aka "forum") script would you suggest? I first thought of vanilla or bbpress, but I think now that probably a stronger categorization would be better, so I may go for punbb, but someone told me it is a bit "unsafe" to exploits :/ So, what? It needs to be free and i must validate xhtml. Please, no SMF (simplemachines), their non-FLOSS license bugs me a little; that's more freeware than opensource :/ I'd still go for punbb, but I'm open to suggestion. Please answer quickly if you want the forum to be up soon. note: we have already a wiki (it is still non-official) http://wiki.flatpress.org I'm setting up a new home too but is still not ready http://www.flatpress.org/home/ You can give suggestions on these as well I hope to read from you soon :) bye -- NoWhereMan (e.v.) -- http://www.nowhereland.it -- http://flatpress.nowhereland.it |

It is really great. It's fast, clean and I donno what else but I like it :) I donno about security issues but I know that quite a few updates are security-related. As soon as a vulnerability is discovered it is fixed with a new release. However, there will be a new, bigger release hopefully soon, 1.3, which will include a lot of changes, the first to mention is full utf8 support everywhere. Anyway, utf8 is also possible right now, I setted up a test environment here: http://viktor.podzone.org:8080/upload/ It uses utf8, I just had to convert the translation files (I'm punbb's translator :P) to unicode and voila, it works. -- Berke Viktor <be...@us...> |

Well that would be needed, if forum is international we should support as many languages as we could, even though I can't read nor Chinese nor Russian :D > Anyway, utf8 is also possible right now, I setted up a test > environment here: > http://viktor.podzone.org:8080/upload/ > It uses utf8, I just had to convert the translation files (I'm > punbb's translator :P) to unicode and voila, it works. Does this mean db is utf8 as well? :/ -- NoWhereMan (e.v.) -- http://www.nowhereland.it -- http://flatpress.nowhereland.it |

I've subscribed you manually, see if it works (PS: please do not CC, I'm receiving twice the same message and I have to approve one and discard the other :P) bye -- NoWhereMan (e.v.) -- http://www.nowhereland.it -- http://flatpress.nowhereland.it |

Also I didn't say in my first mail I like Vanilla, too, and some people suggested it as well, but I'm not sure if it would work for a community of a software project; I see it more for a general discussion group |
