The flaskmpeg crashes while converting newer DVD
titles, the circumstances are stable and can be
recreated over and over again. Titles I have encountered
problems with: The Imposter (always crashes at 90%
done), The Gift (always crashes at 1.73%).
I first thought that I ripped the DVD's in a wrong way so I
did it again and again (I use the latest version of DVD
decryptor). Older versions of flaskmpeg DO complete
conversion (albeit they do take MUCH longer :-)

I checked with the source and it seems that the apply_subpic
funtion does not check for a duration length > 0, with this
check I can now succesfully convert 'The Gift' (for some
reason it includes subpic frames with a length of zero).
The impostor also has a 'feature' I haven't figured out yet, but
what did seem to work for me is that before I call the fr-
>Overlay(...) function I test for s->m_pUpsample422 != NULL.
I hope this helps....

Agree. I'm using a dual AMD MP1800+. Also crashes almost all
the time. Tried to use switch affinity to one CPU only but
crashes all the same... ALTHOUGH not necessecerily at the
same spot.

I currently have the same problem with "Aprs le pluie" ("After
the rain" ?) a japonese movie from Takashi Koizumi. Crash
occurs at the 21 721th frame.
1- splitting the process in two parts (0-21720 and 21721 to
end) does work (but rather hard to realise since there is no
direct way to know the frame number in the flaskMpeg
reader). Problem: when joining both parts, the sound is
shifted 1 or 2 seconds in the second part..
2- Processing with the 0.6 version does works, but audio
synchronization is completely lost)
My machine is an Athlon 900 overclocked to 1050.
The problem occurs with all the iDCT I have tried.

Ha ha... Didn't the author of the software explicitely declare
that copyrighted DVDs were not supported? I know there
may be a glitch, but I wouldn't think anyone would actually
report a problem about converting copyrighted material.
