i get UGLY digi-feedback/overload similar to a foghorn
sound when i first

double click to play a flac encoded file in winamp2
then, double click to play a shn encoded file in winamp2

stopping playback on the shn file will stop the
noise..hitting play again will play with no
problem..totally repeatable

i only see this behavior when switching back to shn
playback (via shnamp plugin) from the flac
playback...playing a shn first and then going to a flac
playback is no problem..just the opposite
transition...this problem also occurs using playlists

    Also report bug.

Clarification and workaround: in my case, this bug only
manifests itself when "output bit depth" is set to 24. (In
all tested cases, files were actually 16bit files from CD.)
Changing this to 16bit completely eliminates incidence of
    this bug.

Elicited in my case by playing one or more FLAC file in
Winamp2 with the 1.10 reference plugin set to output 24bit,
then changing to an Ogg Vorbis file played with Winamp's
default plugin--the Ogg Vorbis file is "corrupted" in
playback. Stopping winamp durring the corrupted playback
and then starting again produces normal output. Does _not_
occur when switching from a flac to an mp3.

Effect is difficult to describe; at first, sound is
generated roughly as normal, but it "sticks" somehow and
rapidly degenerates into (very) loud buzzing. A recording
of this effect can be produced if required.

This is quite possibly a Winamp bug.
