No

When a FLAC encoded file with the extension .FLA is
loaded into Winamp (v5.094), Winamp doesn't know how to
handle it.
Rename the file to .FLAC and it will play fine.

I added a ".fla" key to HKCR but the only result was
that it became clickable in Explorer. Winamp's list of
supported file types still only listed "FLAC" -
therefore I assume Winamp extracts its file type
information from the present plugins themselves, and a
fix has to be made there.

Support of the ".fla" extension without manual renaming
would come very handy because some software (e.g. Nero
with Flac plugin) by default creates its files that way.

the FLA extension is already used for Macromedia/Adobe Flash source files. IMHO it is a bad idea to screw up file associations for people who have Flash projects (besides I think Flash used that extension first). The right way would be to correct the Nero FLAC plugin to create ".flac" files instead of ".fla" files.

Winamp has native flac support now.
