The goal is to provide some handy and free extensions to the Joomla! community.

FJ Related Articles Component (now for Joomla 3.3 and 2.5)

This extension allows you to create blog and list layouts showing articles based on keywords and author. The layouts are similar to the standard Category Blog and Category List layouts. However, articles are selected based on a combination of keywords, author, and author alias. This allows tremendous flexibility in selecting groups of articles for display. Using it, you can create a blog or list based on author, based on manually tagged articles, or based on any combination of keywords and author. This frees you from the restriction of the Section / Category hierarchy of Joomla! and allows you to create the equivalent of sub-sections and many-to-many relationships. One article can be included into multiple layouts, and articles can be easily re-classified just by editing their keywords.

Key features include:

• Enter desired keywords and author information into a "selected" article. These are used to select articles for the blog or list layout.
• Select articles matching any keywords or only articles matching all keywords or only articles with exactly the same keyword list.
• Include author or author alias in the selection list.
• Limit the list of articles based on Section or Category.
• New! Can link to another FJ Related menu item instead of an article menu item.

FJ Related Articles Plus Module (now for Joomla 3.3 and 2.5)

This extension does everything the core Related Articles module does and adds a number of handy features, including:

• New!: Sort articles in random order.
• New!: Show module on any page of any Menu Item Type (not just Article layouts).
• New!: Include articles based on Section, Category, Author, or Author Alias, unrelated to the current article in view.
• New!: Only show articles that have a minimum number of matching keywords.
• New!: Pick Sections, Categories, Authors, and Author Alias values from a list instead of entering ID numbers.
• New!: Show article preview in a tooltip.
• New!: Option to show date created or date last modified.
• Limit the list of related articles by count
• Limit the list to selected Sections or Categories (including the current article's Section or Category)
• Sort the list by number of matching keywords
• Sort the list by keyword
• Display the matching keywords
• Match on author id or author alias
• Numerous other options
