Today has been released on fisterra CVS the first version of Fisterra2 the Gnome2 release of fisterra. This release is a subset of Fisterra 1.5.9 features. Fisterra2 0.0.2 implements a part of CRM, this is the case study for the new architecture. This first milestone just removes the libraries of Gnome1.4 in order to use Gnome2. Domain model has been changed into gobject and database traslated into English. For all, who may want to build Fisterra 1.59 from source on a system=20 different from Debian GNU/Linux. The main problem you may expected it's a problem with an old libgda=20 version. At the moment you _have to use 0.2.96_, that have a lot of=20 building problems. I try to build it on my OpenBSD (3.2) machine, ASPLinux 9 Expresso=20 which is a localized version of the Linux RedHat 9 (disaster!!), and I=20= managed to make it run on Linux Slackware. Here is my dummy method of the Fisterra compilation on Linux Slackware;=20= it isn't a very clever way of doing this, by I didn't like Linux, and=20 have no much time - I just want to see what Fisterra is. So, to the=20 point: I install Linux Slackware 9.0, and after that set up all gnome/*=20 packages + some others packages (can't remember now - dependencies was=20= detected with 'configure' and 'make' error messages) from Slackware 8.0=20= - so I downgrade some packages to the versions needed by Fisterra. After that I found libgda rpm's (via rpmfind.com) - "simple" and=20 'devel', and install it using 'rpm2tgz' and '(cd / && tar xzvf=20 /PlaceOfTheRPM/libgda*)'. Ok, almost done. Now all will be alright, except of Berkley DB 4=20 dependencies problems (at least this happen with Connectivity rpm's,=20 that I use). So your task is to find /usr/bin/gda* scripts and repalce=20= '-ldb4' string with '-ldb-3', or simply put attached items instead of=20 them. So, that's all - now you can build your Fisterra 1.59. On my old=20 PII-350 128Mb it takes about 1,5 hours. That is not a very clever, but fast and working way of this software=20 building. Hope this help someone. With best regards, /Potemkin Alexandre. P.S. My thanks to Alejandro Garc=EDa Castro, who help me a lot with all=20= this... P.S.S. Yes, I know that rpm version of this software exist, but I can't=20= work with RedHat - there are too much bugs and leak things for me... P.S.S.S. Last tip: don't transfer "untarballed" software via FTP or=20 smth like that - that can add you lots of compilation errors |

During this week we are going to discuss the new features that the CRM module should support. These are some of the ideas we think that are necessary for the next release.... opinions, flames, new ideas, we are waiting for you: The "party data management system" We are thinking in parties (Person, Company, etc ) - Full address management for parties. - Full contact system: telephone, fax, and emails. - General bank accounts management. - Support relations among diferent parties: who knows who, how they know, etc. - System to attach notes, documents or appointments to any party. - Full managemente of a multiple role enrironment: client, supplier, etc. Difererent attributes for each role of a party. - Integration with groupware tools: evolution. (Any ideas about multiple gnome application uses). - Several reports. (This feature should be better defined in order to build a full report system). Thanks to everybody from Igalia's People. I look forward to an English translation. I'll see > what I can do about looking at it as it is anyway. I hope you like our work, we have traslated more than 2.000 Strings at Fisterra source. And including gettext support for last 2 weeks. Now it's time to work in fisterra2 in order to use all gnome2 features. We are working in moving to last libgda, gtk+ and libglade versions during next weeks. Regards, -- José María Casanova Crespo Ingeniero en Informática mailto:jmc...@ig... Hi to everyone! A new release has been launched, full internationalisation support added, (English and Spanish running),some bug fixed has been resolved and debian installation easier should be easier (now database install is automatic and several problems are detected). I has been released as 1.5.90, previously to 1.6 you can download it at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3D78897 Changes: - Internationalisation support, anyone can translate fisterra now. - Automatic debian database installation. New scripts included. - Minor bug fixed. Crashed when pressing Ctrl-C and others. I hope these are good news for everyone, .... Any translator volunteer? A bug has been fixed in fisterra installation.=20 Directory /var/spool/fisterra and child directories need to be read-write directories for everyone. This causes the app to get frozen when inserting new datas to database. So i'll release today a new debian package version solving this bug. Sorry. --=20 Jos=E9 Mar=EDa Casanova Crespo Ingeniero en Inform=E1tica Telf: +34 981 91 39 91 Fax: +34 981 91 39 49 mailto:jmc...@ig... IGALIA, S.L. http://www.igalia.com |

Hi to everyone! A new release has been launched, some bug fixed has been resolved and debian installation should be easier. I has been released as 1.4.1, you can download it at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3D78897 Changes: - It has been tested in woody and sid. - I've just released a testing rpm using alien, not yet tested. I hope someone to test it O:-). - Database examples has been included in debian/red hat binary. No automatic sample database instalation. - Minor bug fixed, the most important in example database creation. - Some documentation and examples included in /usr/share/doc/fisterra - Perl scripts moved to /usr/lib/fisterra/ I hope it would be easier for everyone testing fisterra. If it's so: can you make this code available? =3D=3D=3DENGLISH=3D=3D=3D We are now in the process of choosing how the future project architecture will be. One of my greatest interest is enabling Fisterra with CASE tools for automatic generation of interfaces, model objects and persistence in databases. =3D=3D=3DENGLISH=3D=3D=3D My idea is that the way to go would be to be able to assign through configuration files the relation among the database tables and model objects. Another point is that the persistence link would be automatically generated (maybe a solution similar to GOB, or maybe integrating in GOB this feature). =3D=3D=3DSPANISH=3D=3D=3D Tambi=E9n creo que debe facilitarse al m=E1ximo el enlace de las interface= s del cliente con los objetos del dominio. And maybe, through a system which let us deploy and subsitute web or Gnome interfaces easily. =3D=3D=3DSPANISH=3D=3D=3D Mmmmm, esto que acabo de decir son los res=FAmenes de algunas ideas que me parecen interesantes. Espero opiniones ;) =3D=3D=3DENGLISH=3D=3D=3D Mmmmm, what I have just said is a brief of some ideas I'm interested in. I wait opinions ;) --=20 Jos=E9 Dapena Paz <jd...@ig...> Igalia, S.L. |
