FishLAB database complete!

Another milestone has been reached in the development of FishLAB- the database of aquarium fish and plants.

Users of FishLAB can now type parts of a fish or plants name, and have it auto-complete that name and fill in the details right into the program. This can be done with 450 species of fish and 180 species of plants.

Further on this, it is now possible to search the FishLAB database and pull up information on fish-fish aggression, suitable organisms for your given tank conditions and much more!... read more

FishLAB file format completed

The FishLAB tank files are to be written in XML so as to provide data portability. The readers and writers of it are complete so very little remains to do before the FishLAB re-write is completed! Stay tuned for a release over the ensuing week or so.

FishLAB GUI nearly complete

The Graphical User Interface for FishLAB has nearly been completed! I have uploaded the screenshots of the early GUI. You can see the data entry, unit conversion, and tools panel on the widget.

FishLAB will enable automatic report generation of water chemistry data you enter into the program as well as future chemistry predictions based on the current trends. This will enable the aquarium enthusiasts to manage their fish tanks and take action before potential disasters occur in the tank.

FishLAB is being re-designed!

FishLAB is moving away from a user-hostile console interface to a nice, easy-to-use GUI. It will have some neat functions provided only by a GUI so stay tuned.
