-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi all, At long last, I am pleased to announce the release of version 3.0.0 of fish. This release brings a large number of improvements to interactive use for new and returning users, improved performance, extra feature and a whole bunch of bug fixes. As always, before upgrading, please read the release notes carefully. This is particularly important with the release of a new major version. A small number of backward-incompatible changes have been made, which will improve the behaviour of fish in the future. Although most existing scripts will continue to work, they should be reviewed against the release notes. The tarball and packages for Linux, macOS and Windows will soon be available from https://fishshell.com/ and the release notes will be at https://fishshell.com/release_notes.html - but in the meantime I have uploaded the release to the GitHub releases page at: https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/releases/tag/3.0.0 The Linux packages have been submitted to the release:3 channel. Note that if your package manager is still subscribed to the release:2 channel, you will need to change this - use the following links: https://launchpad.net/~fish-shell/+archive/ubuntu/release-3 (Ubuntu) https://software.opensuse.org//download.html?project=shells%3Afish%3Arelease%3A3&package=fish (Debian, Fedora, openSUSE and Red Hat Enterprise Linux) A pull request for Homebrew will be submitted shortly, making the new version available soon. For our distributors, the tarball is available at https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/releases/tag/3.0.0 - the SHA-256 sum is ea9dd3614bb0346829ce7319437c6a93e3e1dfde3b7f6a469b543b0d2c68f2cf and the tarball has a signature from my personal PGP key, as does this message. A big thank you to all those who have contributed code, documentation, issue reports, StackOverflow questions and answers, and good vibes over the last twelve months. It's my pleasure to particularly welcome the many following contributors who have commits in 3.0.0 for the first time: Aaron Bieber, Aaron Miller, Adel Atallah, Aleksey Filippov, Alexander Dalshov, Alexander Skwar, Amos Bird, Andrew Lobos, Andrew Stewart, Anton Shestakov, Benoit Hamon, Birger J.
