After running into a few teething problems with getting firestarter up and running on my RH7.2 box, it appears to be working. I needed to stop ipchains and add iptables as a kernel mod. When my machine boots, I still get errors because my dial-up connection is not active which can easily be solved by running it from ip_up. Only thing is now that each hit on the firewall produces a message in xterm where I start firestarter as per when I couldn't start it at all: The program seems to be running OK with hits displaying in firestarter's log screen, but I get the following in xterm for every hit: Gtk-WARNING **: invalid cast from (NULL) pointer to `GtkContainer' Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkcontainer.c: line 726 (gtk_container_remove):assertion `container != NULL' failed. Gtk-WARNING **: invalid cast from (NULL) pointer to `GtkBox' Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkbox.c: line 366 (gtk_box_pack_end): assertion `box!= NULL' failed. Is this right / a bug? I don;t think so!
