David, Firestarter does use iptables, it's true that it's been 
maintained for years and Tomas been missing for long time, but still I 
think the Ubuntians makes some updates to make the GUI to build and 
change the blocked ip-ranges. This keeps it to work as it is, no new 
features or so, but it's a "simple" iptables rule write for those who 
don't have the skill to make their own rules.
