I've been trying to get a firebird boot build under NT (i.e. a build that does not require a previous binary installation of interbase). So far, I've been out of luck. Has anyone succeeded and could help me with some tips? I'm looking for a build process that would work similarly on many platforms and with a minimum of prerequisites. So far, I can get a boot build on linux, solaris, hp-ux that seems to work exactly the same and need only GNU make and the basic Unix tools. I'd like to get something similar working und Windows. I suggest Cygwin for the Unix-like tools (sed, bash, etc.), GNU make and Microsoft Visual C++ as the compiler.
