OK, here's what I think has happened.... Originally Stargate's interface was very "raw" - they had a domain management console that one accessed via ones Internic nick and password. Mark O. knew my Internic login and I think it was he who set up this sub-domain after the conference in 2003 (or might have been 2004). Does this ring a bell? Since then, Stargate cleaned up their act and consolidated all of the domains that are owned by my nick. They replaced the old console with a new (totally different) one, from which I can access all of the domains. In the process, they failed to transfer the DNS Management feature, hence DNS management is not showing any sub-domains. (The fact that jaybirdwiki.firebirdsql.org has continued to work indicates however that the sub-domain record, probably an A record, must exist *somewhere*!) I just bought a 5-year pack of DNS Management records (50 records). The jaybirdwiki record didn't show up anywhere at all (you can set them up as CNAME, A, plus a choice of other options). I have added jaybirdwiki.firebirdsql.org as a CNAME record pointing to jaybird.rokytskyy.de, and it was accepted. So - the acid test now is whether I have broken the old record. Can you test it out please? Helen |
