the connection string is something like this:

Database=<DataBaseFile>;User=<user>;Password=<password>;Dialect=1;Server=<se
rver>

I had try with dialect=3 and dialect=1 and both works in IB 6.0 but no
sucess with IB 5.5

Isn't the dialect=1 option the maintain compability with previous versions
of IB 6.0 ?
