What about point 1 with the two fields coming across as read only?

I tried latest cvs sources and I am getting the following error when I do an
adapter.update:

Command Connection is not equal to Transaction Connection

I believe that it is the same connection.  I will see if I can make a small
program that demonstates the problem and send it later today.
