All, I've just updated the tree with recent contributions from Robert Milharcic and Carlos Alvarez. Tests indicate that we still have a way to go before releasing a new snapshot, but I didn't want to sit on the changes any longer. Among the problems that I am encountering are that blob text reading still seems very broken if the blob is greater than 64k (or perhaps 32k - I haven't had a chance to verify.) Also, metadata queries still seem to need work - at least, the BDE has trouble getting back info for the DBExplorer. I rolled back a suggested change for reading VARCHARS. It relied on taking the length from XSQLVAR.SQLLEN. This value only indicates the size of the specified varchar column, not the actual length of the data stored in the column.
