Maybe not much, but it is an additional two steps to take. And you
have to watch the target dirs while unpacking. I'd rather take those
steps on our end once, than oblige each and every docwriter to take
them on their end.

If you leave it up to me, I'll go for 1 in the next couple of days,
unless there is some additional benefit (other than saving my own
time) in leaving the zips in CVS.
