David, First I'd like to thank you all for great work! It seems that your doc group will become one from strongest groups in Firebird project beside core development. I can't comment on structure, but it's a good idea to put it in the CVS. But you should evaluate and decide how to deal with next issues: 1) How many CVS modules would be used by doc team ? One is forced to check out a whole module at a time. It could be a problem as content will grow, because one will have to check out a lot of content just to work on a small part of it. I'd like suggest single module for "technical" data like XSL and other DocBook setup files, and one or more modules for actual XML content. I'd like suggest at least two doc modules, one for user doc and another for developer doc. 2) CVS write access. Do you all have R/W access to the CVS ? If not, raise your hand now. You should also take in consideration that we're in process to tighten up a bit our policy for R/W CVS access for new members. You should make an arrangement in your team about how to handle patches from new members until they prove themselves to get R/W access. 3) You're agreed upon use of DocBook, right ? It would be great if you'll write down a short paper for our web site about how to set it up, how to join your team, what work is in progress and what is needed etc. I'd like to create a section for your team at our web site and provide you with easy path for maintenance through web interface, but it's still not here, so don't hesitate to contact me about any requirements to web or FTP needs you'll have. > Should we (now? when?) put the generated defaulthtml on the web site and > the pdf on the ftp site? If you have anything that might be useful for others or general public, it should go to our web and/or FTP. Let me know what you need. > I am also going to check with Markus about my use of his logos... maybe he > can clean up the buttons. Could you postpone use of any FB logo for awhile, please ? We haven't any "official" FB logo other than mirrored IBP logo right now. We're going to open public logo contest soon. Have a nice day!
