[Firebird-net-provider] Cannot "Update Model from Database" in Visual Studio 2012 Pro

Hello,
I am using Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2012. I upgraded a project from
Visual Studio 2010 and installed the new .net provider
(NETProvider-3.0.2.0.msi). After uninstalling the old version, it installed
file but it does not seem to install the components needed to "Update Model
from Database". This is the error I get:
An exception of type
'Microsoft.VSDesigner.Data.Local.ConnectionStringConverterServiceException'
occurred while
attempting to upgrade from database. The exception message is:''.

Also, when I attempt to connect to a Firebird database using the "Server
Explorer", Firebird is not listed. Any ideas??
