Dmitry didn't change anything in the building system.

The system is in CVS (in the manual module), but parts of it (manual/lib and manual/tools) have to be downloaded and unzipped. Instructions are in said directories. Detailed build instructions are in the Docbuilding Howto.

We doccers have no problem with it. The current issue about the wrong LangRef version has to do with sources, not with the build system. There's nothing wrong with installing a build system on a VM, but there's no big advantage either. All the docwriters and translators have installed the build system on their own computers, be it Windows, Linux or whatever. As I said, the build system comes with the module. Since we write on our own computers, it's also the easiest to build on our own computers.

I strongly suggest that you don't waste any time on this now, especially since there's still a lot to do to get the new site in order. And again: we, the people who have to work with it, have no problem with it.
