I used gcc-4.1.1 for building Odbc B2_0_0 (v. 149) without errors. I 
just ran makefile -f makefile.linux and get libOdbcFb.so.
What kind of error you get when build driver using original makefile?

As Firebird uses 4-byte LONG I don't think that -DSIZEOF_LONG=8 is a 
good idea.
