Maybe embarcadero/codegear can help. InterBase is their product. But I don't 
recall there was ever an odbc driver that worked on linux against IB 5.5.

This list is for primarily for discussing development of the Firebird odbc 
driver. Support InterBase 5.5 is way off our radar. 

You are welcome to check out the code and see if you can recompile it to 
work with IB 5.5 on SuSe linux. And if you need help I'm sure someone here 
will reply. We would even consider a patch if you wanted to contribute one.
