get the compat-libstdc++-33 package
and you'll get libstdc++.so.5 64 bit

yum install compat-libstdc++-33

and more if you had setup the Firebird rpm with yum, it would install all=

dependencies for you

I suspect you used rpm to setup the package instead of yum, which is more=
 clever
than rpm
