Jim, a complete overhaul of the security mechanism is required, but who will do it, and how long will it take to discuss?
Your comments have merit, but are at a large tangent to the main issue here. Alex has attempted to fix some known
issues re. security in the current implementation and improve for V2.0. I think we should be thanking him for
the work he is doing, not criticising. Sorting out some of the obvious issues, required that someone make
it happen... I for one would like to see Alex's work in 2.0, as I suspect would a lot of other users of
Firebird.
