thanks, I registered and downloaded and installed VS SDK.
but Firebird still does not appear  among other (MSSQl, Oracle) drivers 
in VS IDE in database explorer.
any ideas?

Installed Visual Studio 2005, then VS SDK
and then I followed the steps from here
