I am using 1.5.1 on linux.
I had posted my further experiment on the firebird-devel list. What I found
out was that this behaviour occurs only when any udf library is statically
linked with libfbclient. fbudf (which comes with 1.5.1 distribtion) is
linked with libfbclient for its dependency on 'isc_decode_timestamp' etc. If
I remove the linking of libfbclient it (addDay) function works fine. But
then there are some functions (addYear), which stops working.
Some people had suggested me to test the 1.5.2, but I havn't had the chance
to test it yet.

Please confirm which Firebird version you are using.
