That's strange because I've just tested (with netstat -a) on a Windows machine and the only port opened to the server is 3050 TCP.
Are you sure you opened in your firewall port 3050 for TCP not UDP

Subject: [Firebird-odbc-devel] Ports needed to connect
I have a customer who wants to connect to our database using the odbc connector on his machine. What ports need to be open besides 3050 in order for the ODBC connector to connect to the Firebird Server? I'm able to connect fine with windows firewall disabled but connection fails with only port 3050 open.
Cheers,
Ken
