IBExpert is a freeware downloaded from Internet, which is not a .NET application so it does not use the .NET provider but the   gds32.dll library.

What version on fbclient.dll are you using with IBExpert? Can you telnetto 3050?

fbclient.dll is not .net provider library, it is fb server native client library
