You need to use the Firebird ADO .NET provider classes not OleDb 
Provider classes:

	- FbConnection.
	- FbTransaction.
	- FbDataAdapter.

Hi,

i dont know how to use assembly in VS, but in C# language you have to write
there

using FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird;

and as csc parameter put
/r:{path}FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird.dll

or if you have it in assembly cache (global assembly)
you dont need this...

I've installed the Firebird .Net provider; how do I actually go about
getting started using it? It shows up in the Net Framword Configuration
Assembly Cache. How do I get started and make a connection in Visual Studio?

GetEnumerator and MoveNext too...)...

But you can get collection of keys and enumerate throw that collection... So
when you remove connection keys collection is unchanged and there is no
exception...

i think you can remove it becouse unlocked is locked and in while you move
to next, so you will not read null connection... To clean up unlocked you
can put that line after while loop...
Reason for this is: If you have 100 pooled connections first 50 is ok and

In the chm file are only the public classes, blob classes are for
internal use only, blobs are automatically readed/writed on
FbResultSet.cs, for read you can use FbDataReader.GetChars and
FbDataReader.GetBytes too.

The support for blobs ( both text and bynary ) is implemented see 
FbDataReader.cs, Blob.cs, FbBlob.cs and FbClob.cs files.

I've been reading the .NET documentation and it says there that in order=20
for an assembly to be shared in the Global Assembly Cache, it has to be=20
properly signed with a Strong Name.  I think the Firebird net provider's=20
DLL is not signed with strong name.

I'm wondering -- is it only me who is not seeing the Firebird Net=20
Provider automatically under the ".Net" tab of "Add References", or is=20
everyone also experiencing the same thing.

(\winnt\assembly).  I'm just wondering how come when I choose the "Add

.NET tab?  I have to manually choose "Browse" and look for the DLL.  Am 
I missing something?

I have already tried also doing a drag-and-drop of the DLL to the 
assembly folder, as well as, use the gacutil.exe.  But while I can see 
there is a FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird in my assembly folder, it just 
refuses to appear automatically in Visual Studio's Reference dialog.

The problem is with the protocol version used in the .net provider 
PROTOCOL_VERSION10 this seems to be not supported in
Interbase 5.x

I cannot make a upgrade to the  IB  Server  because it also  works with
