This can found on many examples in the internet and is working with mssql. I had the idea to do this in two migrations, but the "DeviceTypeId" is a not null field and so the first migration throws an exception also. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |

.NET provider should explicitly call fb_shutdown() on application exit when using Firebird Embedded --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key: DNET-806 URL: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/DNET-806 Project: .NET Data provider Issue Type: Bug Components: ADO.NET Provider Affects Versions: 5.12.1.0 Reporter: Mark Rotteveel Assignee: Jiri Cincura If the apllication exits and there are still connections open using Firebird Embedded, then the exit may produce an access violation (0xc0000005 error). The root cause is that the fbembed.dll/fbclient.dll will call fb_shutdown() itself, but one of the other libraries (eg fbintl.dll) may already have been unloaded. To prevent this, on exit the .NET provider should explicitly call fb_shutdown for any of the native libries loaded (but especially for embedded). See also "Crash Firebird 2.5.8 Embedded with Firebird Ado.net provider." on Firebird-devel. Related: DNET-802 (cleaning up the connection pool on exit will also prevent the access violation). -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |

Migration Problem ----------------- Key: DNET-801 URL: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/DNET-801 Project: .NET Data provider Issue Type: Bug Components: ADO.NET Provider Affects Versions: 5.9.1.0 Environment: Firebird 2.5 Reporter: Andreas Patock Assignee: Jiri Cincura Hi Jiri, you wanted to post me this to the issue tracker - here it is. I have a problem add a new column via migration to a codefirst database. This is the code for the migration: public partial class StreamingModuleAddAddress2 : DbMigration { public override void Up() { AddColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Address1", c => c.String(nullable: false, maxLength: 23)); AddColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Address2", c => c.String(nullable: false, maxLength: 23)); AddColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Port1", c => c.Int(nullable: false)); AddColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Port2", c => c.Int(nullable: false)); DropColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Address"); DropColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Port"); } public override void Down() { AddColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Port", c => c.Int(nullable: false)); AddColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Address", c => c.String(nullable: false, maxLength: 23)); DropColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Port2"); DropColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Port1"); DropColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Address2"); DropColumn("dbo.StreamingModule", "Address1"); } } But when running entityframework creates the following sql: ALTER TABLE "StreamingModule" ADD "Address1" VARCHAR(23) DEFAULT CAST(_UTF8'' AS VARCHAR(0)) NOT NULL I think firebird doesn't allow the CAST in a DEFAULT statement! And this causes the following exception: FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.FbException was unhandled ErrorCode=335544569 HResult=-2147467259 Message=Dynamic SQL Error SQL error code = -104 Token unknown So from the source I deleted the already copied 12,50,000 records and resumed to copy the remaining 76,000. This also failed. Attempted versions: 6 Alpha 2, 5.12.0.0, 5.11.0.0 and 4.5.2.0. However, I could manually insert the 76,000 records using flamerobin. Now to copy this particular table of the database I am using FbCommand's ExecuteNonQuery to run a stored procedure which copies record using Execute Statement On External database. This works fine and faster. For the time being, I appear to have manoeuvred out of dead end. > > > -- > > Mgr. Mapping numeric types in the same configurable way you can do in Oracle ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Key: DNET-796 URL: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/DNET-796 Project: .NET Data provider Issue Type: New Feature Affects Versions: 5.vNext, 6.0.0.0 Environment: ADO.NET framework, entity Framework Reporter: Roberto Carlos da Silva Assignee: Jiri Cincura It would be great if in the Firebird .NET Drive there was a way to map the same numeric types you can do in the Oracle Driver. It would solve various system and framework migration incompatibility issues and make it easier to choose firebird as a database for the .NET platform. I think it would be very easy to do that. https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/ODPNT/entityDataTypeMapping.htm#ODPNT8300 -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |

Also retrying again and again after roll back for last 48hrs. The result is consistently the same ie copying about 13,26,000 records fails reporting Error reading data from the connection, while copying about 13,24,510 record always succeeds. The issue here is more then just ensuring reliability. May be I am missing out settings. Please suggest possible solutions. > On 16 November 2017 at 16:33, LtColRDSChauhan <rds...@gm...> wrote: > > > Hello, > > > > 1. I need to frequently copy a table from one database to another.
