[Firebird-docs] Firebird 1.5 on Notebook running Windows XP

When I open a large database on my notebook with Windows XP, I have to wait
a couple of minutes before I can access my database.

Doing this on my notebook with Windows 2000, I get instant access to my
database.

Anyone has an idea what might be the reason ?

your database extension should be .fdb.  if it is .gdb then windows will 
backup the file before you are allowed to open it.
