Durrani is a good idea, work with EMS QuickDesk or IBExpert for this task. The tool is recomended for begginers. ===== Jose S. If not, can we do something like copy Posgres documentation for all the basic SQL and adapt it where stuff doesn't work the same way? That would at least be a start. Robert Munro |

It could be one approach...but did you know that there is a large InterBase SQL document already available? You can download it from the IBPhoenix site. It might be less effort to bring that document up to date than to start from scratch with a document based on non-standard SQL. Or possibly you could merge the two. I, too, would be interested to hear how Tilo's documentation project is going along. As I recall, David Jencks began a project using XML, which Tilo picked up about two years ago... Currently, there is a Quick Start Guide at IBPhoenix (in English) which IBP is making available for anyone who wants to translate it. http://www.ibphoenix.com/main.nfs?a=ibphoenix&page=ibp_quickstart IBP has a link for people who want to contribute to future versions of this doc. It is an Adobe PDF which was done in Framemaker. Currently there is a (very rough) export of the source code to Word 7 available to people interested in translating it. So far, it is being translated to French and Portuguese. regards, Helen |

Certainly much more standard than MySQL, which is the only other obvious place to start. > I, too, would be interested to hear how Tilo's documentation project is > going along. As I recall, David Jencks began a project using XML, which > Tilo picked up about two years ago... I'd like to read it, and make comments and suggestions, but I can't see where I can view an HTML version. It looks like I'd have to build it from DocBook, and I have no idea how to do that.
