I would just like to ask if I can use Firebird with RedHat 7.1 or RedHat 7.2? I remember that Interbase Linux was designed for Redhat 6, and there had been posts regarding problems with RedHat 7 - if I remember right. So, are issues regarding RedHat 7 already resolved, or do I have to stick with RedHat 6? Thanks Joseph Alba jalba@... |

IB doesn't allow grouping by UDFs. Neil added that capability to FB. However, I found that users would get nonsense results because the co= de didn't check proper synchrony between the SELECT part and the GROUP B= Y part. I've seen several posts asking why a thing like this doesn't work: select field, field2, sum(field) group by field2 so we would have the same problem once users discovered the UDF capab= ility, since the possibility to have wrong statements is greater. Separating= the good cases from the wrong cases is not straightforward in code, but N= eil has been taming the code with great patience. C. |

The Configure.sh script now asks the user if they want a 32 or 64 bit build. This should work until FB2 and autoconf gets off the ground. -John |
